busy, bored and tired

applying for transfer schools, scholarships and fellowships is exhausting! it's such a looooong and dulling process that finishing the written personal statements is barely the beginning. then you have to track down old test scores, college transcripts, community involvement records, bug professors and friends for letters of rec, ensure that you have all the required material bundled together for the proper app, and submitted before the quickly approaching deadline. gah! it's the middle of January. i suppose i'll look forward to April when all is taken care of, and then late may and June for what will hopefully be acceptance letters (hope, being the key word.) and free money for college is always a good thing, as well as undergrad preparation for the foreign service (crossing fingers for the Pickering Fellowship)!

Ugh! I know how you feel! I remember doing some of that when I was a senior in high school, but luckily I won't have do go through it for transfer schools until next fall. Hang in there, Connie. It'll be over soon!

Oh, and I have a new blog home now: it's http://blog.mssarikah.com

:-)

Good luck on the Pickering! I applied for the graduate fellowship and found your blog while Googling around trying to find other hopefuls. I hope it all works out for you. The waiting is interminable, isn't it?

I got the thin, sad little envelope from the Woodrow Wilson Foundation today. Any chance you got good news?
