prof hits the stage

Calling all lovers of good music. My former professor, Harry Smallenburg and his band, The Big Bad Jazz Band, will be performing at MBar & Restaurant next Tuesday, April 3rd with a 7:30 downbeat.

From Harry's email, "Yeh, it's a school night but that's why we're so baaaad!" Talk about a character. I'm sure the show will be just as entertaining.

some info on the band:
BBJB is a top-level jazz and swing performance group in residence at Glendale College with over 200 songs in its repertoire. With an emphasis on the traditions and styles of musicians like Duke Ellington, Count Bassie, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Billy May, Lennie Niehaus, Sammy Nestico and many other similar composers and arrangers, the 20 members themselves bring a wealth of experience as soloists, studio musicians, composers, arrangers and educators which make Craig Kupka's band one of the best in the L.A. area.
