My aunt and uncle sent me a Chinese New Year goodie packet in the mail, and in it were these cute paper dolls and lots of yummy good luck candy. I texted my mom the photo wishing her and my family a happy celebration, and she texted back:

very cute happy chinese new year may all your wishes come true i love you

I love my mom's texts. They make me laugh and tear up because she's so sincere, so supportive and so loving.  

While my family's getting together for a big feast back in LA, I've invited my old boss/mentor and friend for dinner and we're making spring rolls!
